Manor Lords is About to Transform, Adding a Much-Requested Feature

The strategy game Manor Lords is set to undergo a significant change, adding a much-requested feature. In a few weeks, it will update its engine and expand its economy. Although it does not yet have an exact release date, the game will include fishing as an economic and management function.

In recent years, a distinguishing element has emerged to categorize many PC games, especially if they are not massive blockbusters: Steam wish lists. For several months, Manor Lords has topped and dominated the list against its competitors, and although the number of players has decreased, the desire has not. After months of requests for fishing ponds to expand the game’s economy, the developer finally confirms their arrival. But that is not the only new feature.

Since the launch of Manor Lords, the gaming community has been clamoring for the inclusion of fishing as an in-game activity. Many believed that this, one of the major economic activities of the Middle Ages, would be included at launch, but due to the vicissitudes of independent development with a single worker, its implementation has been delayed longer than expected.

Nevertheless, Slavic Magic has listened to the requests and announced that the next update will officially include fishing ponds. In a recent tweet, the developer expressed that there had been so many requests that they couldn’t ignore the players’ wishes.

As for the functionalities of fishing ponds, little is known yet, but fishing is expected to become a new source of trade and food resources, similar to other resources such as meat, eggs, fruits, and vegetables. Players are also looking forward to the inclusion of structures such as fishing docks and trading docks to expand the development possibilities within the game.

Manor Lords Will Be Updated to Unreal Engine 5

In fact, the best part is not just that we will now be able to fish – or watch our citizens fish – but that this will also mark the game’s debut with Unreal Engine 5, promising graphical and performance improvements. While an exact date for the patch’s release has not been revealed, Slavic Magic has indicated that “the current plan is a few weeks,” suggesting that players can expect the update in late August or early September.
