Two years have passed since Jurassic World: Dominion, which concluded the Chris Pratt-led reboot trilogy. During this time, fans have already received hints about the next part of the franchise, which Scarlett Johansson will lead. Although there is no mention of a title yet, judging by the new news, fans may have already discovered the title of the next film.
From a recently filed trademark application, it appears that the new full title of the next instalment in the franchise will be Jurassic World: Rebirth. The film will star Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali.
Amblin Entertainment, the production company behind the Jurassic World films, is listed as an applicant for the trademark alongside Universal City Studios LLC. According to the information provided, the application was submitted only a few days ago. The purposes listed are entertainment, advertising and business, and education and entertainment.
Everything we know about Scarlett Johansson’s Jurassic World 4 movie
Not much is officially known about Jurassic World: Rebirth. Initially, it was to be directed by David Leitch, but now it is official that Gareth Edwards will direct the film based on a script by David Koepp. Johansson called this scenario “incredible”. Accordinrumoursumors, the film will feature three teenagers and three adults trying to survive on Isla Nublar (filming is currently taking place in Thailand). The film was described as a “completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era”.
Bryce Dallas Howard, who starred as Claire Dearing in the first three Jurassic World films, will not be returning to the film.
However, he revealed that he has high hopes for success and could not give much advice to the new creative team behind the production. The only advice he shared was that he hopes the team behind the film doesn’t forget that the target audience is children.
While Howard has confirmed that he will not be returning to the franchise, Pratt has been tight-lipped about his continued involvement in the series. Pratt hinted at possibly continuing his role in the first three films. He also joked that he might not be coming back. In addition to Johansson, Bailey and Ali, confirmed cast members include Rubert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaine and David Iacono.
Despite receiving mixed reviews upon its release, Jurassic World: Dominion has become another massive financial success for a franchise that just refuses to go extinct. The nostalgic return of the original Jurassic Park cast was almost too much for some critics. But in the end, the film delivered exactly what it needed – dinosaur action galore. There are high hopes that in the new instalment, Gareth Edwards will do with the Jurassic franchise what he did with Godzilla and Star Wars: the saga is expected to bring back the tone of the original Jurassic Park film.
