MOVIE REVIEW – The latest adventure of Deadpool and Wolverine offers a mesmerizing experience not only for Marvel fans but for anyone who loves action, humor, and dynamic character interactions. This latest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) demonstrates that the studio can poke fun at itself without losing quality.
I must confess, there are few film genres that feel as played out to me as Marvel superhero movies. The era of epic, bombastic superhero films is over. By Endgame, everyone had worn out their tissues over Iron Man’s death; in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Doctor Strange movies, they had twisted and turned the multiverse every which way. The poor Marvel universe feels like that emaciated cow dreading the cheerful farmer coming to squeeze out the last drop. And let’s not even talk about the heavily criticized, woke-drenched, or simply weak Disney series.
For Marvel, only one thing works now: the sharp, unvarnished, brutal, and bloody parody represented by the Deadpool films. Fortunately, the latest Deadpool film is just that, and Wolverine, with his eternally grumpy, serious, self-tormenting, yet brutally fierce nature, fits perfectly alongside (finally well translated as Wolverine in Hungarian), played by the good old Hugh Jackman.
Two superheroes in one den? Absolutely!
The story has Deadpool and Wolverine forced to team up to stop a common enemy, Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), the evil twin sister of Professor X. Nova’s goal is to bring chaos and destruction to the MCU, and these two heroes must stop her. Her character, intentionally exaggerated and over-the-top, adds depth to the film while Deadpool tries to handle the situation with his usual raw humor.
The greatest strength of “Deadpool & Wolverine” is its perfect balance of humor and action, in a way unprecedented in the Marvel Universe. The dynamic between Deadpool’s crude jokes and Wolverine’s serious, grumpy demeanor is particularly entertaining. This counterpoint, missing from previous Deadpool films, is provided here by Hugh Jackman’s character, making the movie genuinely enjoyable.
Like the previous Deadpool films, this one also received an R rating, and not without reason: it is filled with hacking, bloody action scenes where Wolverine finally gets to unleash himself. Director Shawn Levy spares no one; the film is brutally bloody and violent, but all delivered with such humor that it’s impossible not to laugh.
The comic book style is spot-on
Visually, there is nothing to complain about in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The various locations are artistically creative and visually stunning, with special effects that are spot-on. There are even nods to other blockbusters beyond the Marvel universe, like the recently released “Furiosa,” which ties to Marvel through Chris Hemsworth, who played the villain.
The fight scenes are dynamic and creative, and the humor is present in every minute to counterbalance the hardcore violence or more serious moments. Particularly notable are the fights between Deadpool and Wolverine, which are not only spectacular but also incredibly humorous. Additionally, the film is full of witty remarks and pop culture references that are sure to make audiences smile.
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds’ performances complement each other perfectly, and the chemistry between the characters is palpable. Jackman confidently and with a touch of self-reflective humor brings Wolverine back to life, which fans will truly appreciate. Reynolds, meanwhile, delivers his usual form as Deadpool, and their dynamic together is what makes this film special.
Of course, there are cameos (none of which will be spoiled in this review), but the fan service is not excessively maxed out – ticked off as a “mandatory” element like in previous films – but delivered with a dry humor.

EXCELLENT
"Deadpool & Wolverine" once again proves that Marvel is unbeatable not only in epic stories but also in self-reflective humor. This film is a true gem that will remain memorable for a long time. The perfect balance of action, humor, and dynamic character interactions makes this one of the best in the Marvel Universe.
