The South Korean company promised something and then failed to deliver, blaming language barriers, but since it’s an international game, isn’t it just another case of pride not admitting a mistake?
The First Descendant features a Destiny-like loot cave that the public quickly dubbed “Valby Run”. Unlimited respawning enemies that can be used to endlessly grind money and gear. Nexon seemed to touch on this only minimally: making more areas similar, or so we heard a few days ago. But now there’s a new statement from the company saying the opposite, and that the comment about the game’s director was mistranslated, meaning that Valby Run will be thoroughly nerfed…
We apologize for the confusion caused by the misinterpretation during the translation process of the original Korean text. There have been no reversals of decisions, and our initial statement remains that we do not intend to restrict the Valby-run playstyle. However, as we… https://t.co/1CZDnuVsau

“We apologize for the confusion caused by the misinterpretation during the translation process of the original Korean text. There has been no reversal of decisions, and our original statement remains that we do not intend to restrict the Valby Run playstyle. However, as we mentioned earlier, we are looking to adjust the efficiency of the rewards in the Fortress Outpost to bring it in line with other regions. We would like to inform you that we’re preparing a patch that will not completely block the Fortress Outpost issue and will allow players to continue to enjoy the game as before. At the same time, however, we will be updating the Vulgus Strategic Outpost to match the efficiency of other farming locations,” Nexon’s statement reads.
So the spawn time for Valby Run has been increased, but the amount of loot has not changed. The outpost time has been reduced from five minutes at launch to one minute, so there will be more action. Director Joo Min-Seok added: “To ensure that Valby Run remains as popular a hunting ground as Ambush Point and Refined Run, we have set the reward efficiency much higher than originally intended. We hope to have many farming spots in The First Descendant, each with unique characteristics and usefulness for different descendants. Rather than returning Valby Run to its original design intent, we have adjusted it to provide similar efficiency to other high-reward hunting grounds. Through themes like Fortress Outskirts and Valby Run, we learn what kind of playstyle our players enjoy. The experience of sweeping through and farming monsters is very valuable in our game.”
So more locations will spawn more often, but not as often as before in that location. Inconsistent? A little bit.
