Romantic Depths of Baldur’s Gate 3 Inspire a Game of a Different Genre!

Nothing is more proof of the success of Larian’s game than the fact that it inspired a game of a completely different genre, so they can’t say a bad word about Baldur’s Gate 3…

Warframe’s next big story update, 1999, will bring a lot of new stuff, and of course, as the name suggests, Digital Extremes’ game will not miss out on the 90s. One thing we weren’t expecting was a romance system, so any member of Protoframe’s new alliance, Hex, can be paired with your character as the story progresses. Rebecca Ford, the game’s creative director, spoke about this in an interview with GamesRadar:

“I’ve always wanted to have some sort of romance system in Warframe, but there was never a scenario that was right for it. I think two things really gave us the courage to move forward. Obviously, the success of Baldur’s Gate and their romance system made us think, ‘Okay, people want that fantasy. It helps, no doubt, but we had ambitions for it that fit the Warframe architecture, on and off… Baldur’s Gate was certainly the push over the cliff, and I’m grateful for that. It was one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had,” Ford said.

An instant messaging mini-game can be used to develop the romance, so Kinematic Instant Messaging will be used for that. It’s a bit strange, but a bold move by the developers to use messaging to pass the time in a third-person shooter. However, Ford has said more than that before, so it might not be out of the question for Warframe to have someone get pregnant in the game. It was just a suggestion, of course, but who knows what the developers will come up with?

On the downside, the best-case scenario is that the end result will be a New Year’s Eve kiss in Warframe 1999, which will be released sometime this winter for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. But the road there, the instant messaging mini-game, could be exciting.
