Is Nintendo in Trouble? Has the First Image of the Next Kirby Game Leaked?

It’s simply a death sentence to mess with the big N, because if you pull Nintendo’s mustache too hard, they’ll almost immediately call in their legal team…

Kirby has become one of Nintendo’s most iconic franchises over the past three decades. The first game was Kirby’s Dream Land, released for the Game Boy in 1992. It was developed by HAL Laboratory, directed by Masahiro Sakurai (who would go on to make his name with Super Smash Bros.), and programmed by Satoru Iwata, who would go on to become Nintendo’s president (and who has since passed away due to complications from cancer…). Many of the franchise’s gameplay elements were already in place at the time, and to this day, the little pink, unappetizing character continues to draw attention.

The latest major episode in the franchise is currently Kirby and the Forgotten Land, which has managed to break the sales record of Kirby’s Dream Land. The game was released for Nintendo Switch on March 25, 2022, and was the first episode to offer a true 3D gaming experience. Building on the success of Kirby’s Dream Land, a remake (Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe) was released for Switch on February 24, 2023. There was also a multiplayer party game spin-off, Kirby’s Dream Buffet (August 17, 2022). So it’s been a year or two, so the big N and HAL Laboratory must be on to something.

The image below has popped up on 4chan, and the caption says that a Japanese man took the pictures of the Kirby stuff to impress a foreigner and get naked pictures. Someone looks… ahem, “hungry”. The person could be an employee of Nintendo or HAL Laboratory, and if the leak is true, they will probably be fired in short order, because this is not something to joke about. It is taken very seriously.

The picture is completely unofficial, but who knows, something about it looks authentic.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
