Love, Rock Music, and the Balaton Summer Rage in the First Trailer of “How Could I Live Without You?” [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – The first footage from How Could I Live Without You? has finally arrived! The new Hungarian rom-com, starring Franciska Törőcsik, Márk Ember, and Peti Marics, will be shown in theaters from December 12. The fast-paced trailer gives a humorous, melodic, and emotional taste of the romantic musical comedy built around the evergreen hits of Ferenc Demjén. The film was created by a real star team: the original idea came from producer Attila Kirády, the film’s creation was overseen by creative producer Krisztina Goda, the screenplay was written by her and Anett Kormos, and the direction was undertaken by Dénes Orosz, who has made several successful comedies in his career. The creators hope that How Could I Live Without You? will attract audiences of all ages to the big screen during the Christmas break for some carefree entertainment and relaxation.

One of the main characters in How Could I Live Without You? is Lili (Sára Varga-Járó), who lives a solitary life after tragically losing her love, until she finds her mother’s diary and a bundle of love letters in her parents’ apartment. As she begins to read them, the past comes to life before her eyes, recalling an unforgettable summer in the early 1990s: Lili’s mother, Eszter (Franciska Törőcsik), is vacationing at Lake Balaton with two friends. She is determined to stay faithful to her stiff boyfriend left at home, but her plans are upended when she meets Gergő (Márk Ember), who is laid-back, funny, and has another great quality: as the frontman of a band, he performs on the beach in Szigliget with his friends (Peti Marics, Marcell Kirády). What will come of this? Confusion? Love? Jealousy? A few kisses? A few slaps? More kisses? That’s the minimum. The summer at Lake Balaton will change the lives of the young people, and even impact their children’s lives.

In this sunny musical comedy set in the present day and thirty years ago, Ferenc Demjén’s best-known songs (Sajtból van a hold, Darabokra törted a szívem, Szerelemvonat, Jégszív, Jöjj vissza vándor, etc.) are sung by young actors and musicians. Among them are Franciska Törőcsik, Peti Marics, Márk Ember, Bence Brasch, Marcell Kirády, and Sára Varga-Járó. In addition, Luca Márkus, Harmat Kovács, Zoltán Seress, Anna Györgyi, Balázs Medveczky, Anna Markó-Valentyik, Balázs Szántó, and Veronika Barta will appear in other roles.

The musical romantic comedy, produced by IKO and with the involvement of Attila Kirády, known as the producer of grand television shows like Megasztár, Sztárban sztár, and TV series such as Pepe, Mintaapák, Holnap tali, is directed by Dénes Orosz, who has made many highly successful comedies (Poligamy, Coming Out, Seveled). The screenwriters are Anett Kormos (Mintaapák, A mi kis falunk) and Krisztina Goda (Szabadság, szerelem, BÚÉK, Csak szex és más semmi), who is also the film’s creative producer. The cinematography for How Could I Live Without You? is by Tamás Babos (A nemzet aranyai, Együtt kezdtük, Kaméleon), while the music is provided by Ferenc Demjén’s team.

Supported by the National Film Institute, co-financed by MBH Bank and IKO Műsorgyártó Magyarország Kft., and in collaboration with TV2 as a media partner, the film will be presented by InterCom in Hungarian cinemas on December 12, 2024.
