Fans have decided to develop the Bloodborne remaster that Sony doesn’t seem interested in making, enabling it to be playable on PC through emulation.
Fromsoftserve, a well-known Souls series modder, recently revealed that they are working on a Bloodborne visual overhaul mod that will bring upscaled textures, dynamic shadows, better reflections, and more. In the video below, the modder explains why they are developing this mod while showing how they are improving Central Yarnham.
While it may seem a bit early to develop a visual overhaul mod for a game that cannot be properly emulated yet, the day Bloodborne becomes playable on PC is drawing closer. As reported on X/Twitter by Pirat_Nation, the shadPS4 emulator, which has been making significant progress recently, is now capable of running in-game scenes in Dark Souls Remastered, which runs on the same engine as Bloodborne. It may still be months or even years away, but it looks increasingly likely that the popular PlayStation 4 exclusive will eventually become playable on PC, with some of its most glaring technical issues fixed.
Currently, the only way to play Bloodborne is on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Those with a jailbroken console can also install the unofficial 60 FPS patch that was released online a while back.
