While it’s becoming more and more common this year to hear that a game won’t be released on its scheduled date, sometimes the opposite is true.
While Avowed has already been reported as not coming out this fall (so Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 may also be on the cards, although the latter two may be delayed and the former was recently reported due to a very optimistic development), we’re lucky that sometimes news pops up that a game will be released SOONER than planned.
Dragami Games has announced that they are not planning a western release for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP on September 25th. This has been BROUGHT UP to September 12th and the price has been confirmed. It will cost $45, so you will be able to get a modernized version of the chainsaw adventures for a reasonable price. The release date in Japan and Asia remains unchanged at September 26th.
RePOP is a definitive version of the game, leaving the story unchanged and focusing on quality of life improvements and additional gameplay content. Follow Juliet, a descendant of zombie hunters, as she fights alongside her boyfriend and family to stop a zombie apocalypse that begins in her high school on Juliet’s 18th birthday. The game’s resolution has been increased to Full HD and loading times have been greatly reduced. The chainsaw action has been speeded up with the introduction of the Chained Hits Hunting system, where chaining multiple hits in a row increases the player’s attack speed. Input times for combo actions have been adjusted to better match player expectations. The Chainsaw Blaster action has been improved with the addition of auto-lock and auto-fire modes that can be toggled, and an increased maximum ammo count of 99. The player can now use combo actions immediately at the start of the game.
Separate from Original Mode, RePOP Mode has been added, featuring a unique and colorful pop art-inspired art style for damage effects. Unique new chainsaws have been added with distinctly different features. There are 30 costumes, more than the number of costumes in the original game. Combined with the addition of 4 new hair colors and 4 new chainsaws, there are 750 different possible combinations. Juliet’s room has been expanded with more features. A time attack mode with ranking has been added.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be released on September 12th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch.
