MOVIE NEWS – The highly anticipated Andor Season 2 was spotlighted at D23 2024 in Anaheim, where fans were treated to behind-the-scenes footage and tantalizing clips. The upcoming season promises intense action with TIE fighters, Stormtroopers, and rebellious uprisings, giving fans plenty to look forward to when it hits Disney+ next year.

Diego Luna, who stars as Cassian Andor, took the stage to reflect on the impact Andor has had on his life and what fans can expect in the next chapter of this Star Wars saga.

“’Rogue One’ was a game-changer for me. I’ve lived and breathed Cassian Andor for a decade. Completing this journey from Season 1 to ‘Rogue One’ feels like coming full circle. The first season covered just one year of Cassian’s life under the Empire’s rule. It was a year of courage and awakening,” Luna shared with the audience.

“This next season spans four years and chronicles Cassian’s evolution into the rebel hero we know from ‘Rogue One.’ The stakes are higher, the enemies more formidable, and the pressure is on. The Empire’s threat looms larger, and Andor’s mission—freedom and a brighter future—has never been more urgent.”

Earlier this year, Luna also hinted that more characters from Rogue One will make appearances in Andor Season 2. With the series edging closer to the timeline of Rogue One, this season is set to bring the story right up to just three days before the events of the film.

Though Andor Season 2 was originally slated for an August 2024 release, delays due to the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes pushed the premiere back. Star Wars fans will have to wait a little longer, but the anticipation is sure to make the payoff even sweeter.
