First Clip of The Mandalorian & Grogu Revealed – The First Star Wars Movie in Over 5 Years!

MOVIE NEWS – Filming for The Mandalorian & Grogu has officially kicked off, as announced by director Jon Favreau during Disney’s expo on Friday night. During the event, the film’s logo was unveiled, and attendees were given an exclusive look at one of the scenes. The new film, which is based on the popular Disney+ series, is set to hit theaters in May 2026, marking the first Star Wars film since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

Favreau, who co-created the series with Dave Filoni, is now taking the helm as the film’s director. During the fan event, he teased that the beloved duo, Din Djarin and Grogu, will embark on new, exciting adventures. Filoni, who is also involved in writing the screenplay and producing the film, shared his enthusiasm, saying: “Everyone is thrilled that Star Wars is returning to the big screen.”

The clip that was shown featured Din Djarin, the beskar-helmeted bounty hunter, and Grogu reaching out to touch fingers. Din then says, “We are bounty hunters, but now that he’s with me, I choose my jobs more carefully.” The scene also showcased Babu Frik flying a spaceship with Grogu. Additionally, a snowy planet was shown, reminiscent of Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back. However, the biggest surprise was the appearance of Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios, a character from the Star Wars: Rebels series.

These scenes were exclusive to the event’s attendees, but the film’s logo has been made available for everyone to see:

The production has officially begun, and Pedro Pascal will reprise his role as Din Djarin, although he is expected to primarily provide the voice for the character. Pascal is currently busy with the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four film and the filming of the second season of The Last of Us. In the Mandalorian series, the character is often seen wearing a helmet, so Pascal was frequently replaced by other actors for such scenes during filming.
