Geralt Set to Return in The Witcher 4! [VIDEO]

CD Projekt RED’s Polaris codename project will include the new trilogy, and Doug Cockle will be a part of it – he told us about it himself.

Cockle is the voice of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher trilogy, so his voice is very memorable (though other scenes of the character may have been in our heads, like when Geralt is in the bathtub). And now it is certain that we will hear him in the new game(s). Cockle talked about it in the YouTube video embedded in Fall Damage below. We’ve already heard that Geralt will make an appearance in CD Projekt RED’s (CDPR) game, which is currently in a more advanced stage, but at least now we officially hear about it…

“The Witcher 4 has been announced. I can’t say anything about it. What we know is that Geralt will be a part of the game, we just don’t know how much, and the game won’t focus on Geralt. So it’s not about him this time. We don’t know who it’s about. I’m curious to find out. I want to know! I haven’t seen a script yet, I mean, I couldn’t tell you if I had. That is the thing, so I could be lying through my teeth. But I’m not. Or am I?” said Cockle.

Anno, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt executive producer John Mamais told Polygon that although the story will end the protagonist’s adventure, there is a possibility that he will appear in future games, they just need to talk about it to figure out what to do next. But who will take the protagonist’s place? Ciri could be a logical choice, but then you’d have to decide which of the many endings in The Witcher 3 is the accepted, canonical ending, but also weaken it a bit. (In the case of Batman, we’ve seen this time and time again in the Batman: Arkham titles). The other option is a unique character, similar to Cyberpunk 2077’s V.

Whatever happens, it will certainly be unusual for Geralt to only appear as a supporting character at first.
