A Deeper Half-Hour Insight into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl [VIDEO]

GSC Game World has published an in-depth developer’s look at the long-awaited game, which has been delayed several times due to the Russian-Ukrainian war.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 like many other games in the gaming industry (even CD Projekt RED switched to this technology), and although the Ukrainian studio announced the PC system requirements back in 2021, a lot has changed since then and a lot of technological advances have been made. PC users can be happy: Denuvo DRM will not be used in the game (and hopefully it won’t be used at the last minute, a few weeks before release, because how many times have we seen that?)

We’ll be able to experience a 64 square kilometer radioactive zone in the evergreen, large world. There will be plenty of post-apocalyptic environments at our fingertips, and the mutants won’t be far behind. We’ll learn about them as we travel. To add another layer of realism and immersion, it will be up to us to decide how the story unfolds, as there are several major forks in the story and therefore many endings. There will also be dynamic time of day changes and weather systems that can either help or hinder our exploration. Twenty different regions will have unique elements to make them properly distinguishable.

When the game is released, there will be mod support and multiplayer (with an update coming soon after release). The large swamp region was shown in the video, as well as some early missions. GSC Game World gave a brief glimpse of some of the other areas, which were meant to make the Zone feel huge, to give us a sense of freedom, exploration and solitude, as there won’t be many people to run into in the Zone.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which offers a more realistic experience, will be released on November 20 for the Xbox Series and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
