New Halloween Game in the Works – The Horror Classic’s Director Involved in Development?!

The Halloween game under development is made in Unreal Engine 5, and John Carpenter is also involved in the work…

There are currently two games in active development based on the 1978 classic Halloween, and fans of the franchise will no doubt be delighted to see the man behind the original film take on a role in both projects. As IGN exclusively revealed, Boss Team Games is the developer behind both projects.

The team previously worked on Evil Dead: The Game, which was based on another popular horror franchise, 1981’s Evil Dead.

Director John Carpenter is best known for directing several cult classic films, including The Thing, Escape from New York, Big Trouble in Little China, and the original Halloween.

Carpenter is also a huge video game fan, so his involvement in the upcoming Halloween games is more of an endorsement than you might think.

In the past, he spoke highly of several video game projects, among which mostly horror games also occur. Who would have thought?

He also previously signed on to direct a film based on the Dead Space games, which is unsurprising, as he regularly talks about his love for the franchise. Little is known about the two Halloween games, but Boss Team Games announced that players will “relive moments from the film and play as classic characters from one of the most iconic and important horror films of all time.”

Boss Team Games CEO Steve Harris noted in a press release about the untitled games that “getting to work with iconic characters like Michael Myers and build on John Carpenter’s original vision is literally a dream come true.”

He also stated: “Everyone at Boss Team is thrilled and honored to be working with Malek Akkad and John Carpenter to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience that fans of the movie and video games will love.”

Their addition was revealed: one of these mentioned games is being made in Unreal Engine 5, which is an exciting prospect. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the projects and Carpenter’s role soon.
