Red Dead Redemption: PC Announcement Coming Soon – Here’s the Strongest Evidence Yet!

The description of the PS4 version of Red Dead Redemption has been added with the text “now on PC for the first time ever”, although there is no confirmation from Rockstar yet…

For years since the release of GTA IV, there has been a lot of debate about how long it takes for Rockstar Games to release the PC versions of their games, and how PC gamers have to wait longer than their peers. However, there is one game that has never seen a PC release: Red Dead Redemption. The open-world Wild West game has avoided PC, and such a version has been rumoured for years. But we may have come to the end of the road because an official mention of the PC version of the game has practically entered the PlayStation Store!

For years, we’ve read rumours, half-truths, and details that seemed to foreshadow a PC port of Red Dead Redemption. However, it appeared like Rockstar was focused on GTA VI and didn’t have time to work on this version…or maybe they did?

Early yesterday morning, the PlayStation Digital Store updated the game description, which very clearly refers to the PC version of Red Dead Redemption.

As we could read, until it was removed, the description was expanded with this sentence: “Experience the epic western adventures that defined a generation—now on PC for the first time ever.” Although the game cannot be purchased on Steam or the Rockstar Games Launcher yet, you don’t have to read between the lines to draw conclusions.

In fact, if you check the pre-release version of the update using the Wayback Machine, most of the description is unchanged, but this introductory sentence before the synopsis was added in the early morning hours. And a few hours later, it was suspiciously deleted. In addition, it now ends with prominent mentions of PC improvements, such as higher resolution or ultrawide support.

For now, Rockstar Games is keeping quiet about the possibly unannounced PC version of Red Dead Redemption, at least officially. But this PlayStation slide may be the final word. We only have to wait for the company’s official confirmation, which will hopefully arrive in the next few hours or days.

Red Dead Redemption is coming to PC; we have to wait for GTA VI

Following in the footsteps of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games’ next big release will not be coming to PC right away. In the official announcement of GTA VI last year, the company only mentioned the PS5 and Xbox series as release platforms. Likewise, the latest financial report that put the release date in 2025 also didn’t specifically mention the game on that platform, so we’ll probably have to be patient.
