Final Fantasy 7 Remake Director Promises Part 3 Will Redefine Gaming History!

Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, has set sky-high expectations for the third installment in the beloved series. Speaking at a special event held at a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Hamaguchi expressed confidence that Part 3 will not only meet but exceed the hopes of fans around the world.

Hamaguchi shared exciting news about the ongoing development of the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. “The development team is hard at work as we speak, and we’re going to make the game something that even beats any expectations that you have towards the game,” Hamaguchi said through an interpreter. “I’m absolutely confident that the third game in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series will be one of the most loved, most popular games in the whole history of video games, once again.”

During the same presentation, both Hamaguchi and the game’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase, discussed how Part 3 will build on the strong foundation laid by its predecessors. They highlighted that the third game will not only continue the epic narrative but also introduce significant improvements in gameplay and content.

“We’ve done all of the groundwork now, all of the story which has been built up through Remake and Rebirth,” Hamaguchi explained. “And now we’re in a great position so all the fans are wondering and expecting how the story’s going to end, where it’s going to go from here.”

Kitase emphasized that the team has carefully listened to fan feedback from the first two games and is using those insights to refine the final chapter. “We really have listened very carefully and taken on board all of the feedback on the first two games in the series, and all of those learnings are going to be reflected in the third game, so it’ll be exactly what the fans are looking for.”

He added, “We hope you can look forward to that new synergy we’re coming up with right now, that merging of nostalgia and new innovation which will create something incredibly special. We really are looking forward to a date in the future when we can reveal more about what the third game will be, but I really can promise right now that it will be a game that perfectly reflects all of that passion that the fans have for Final Fantasy 7, so look forward to great things.”

The first two parts of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake were released in 2020 and 2024, respectively, suggesting that Part 3 is still several years away. VGC’s review of the second entry, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, praises it as “an excellent RPG with some of the best characters in the gaming canon.” The review adds, “While some open-world content skirts the edges, and the game’s main narrative is left somewhat deflated, the time spent with Aerith, Tifa, and the gang makes this a hugely enjoyable road trip you’ll be playing for hundreds of hours.
