Has the New James Bond Been Found? Betting Suspended as Speculation Heats Up!

MOVIE NEWS – Speculation about who will replace Daniel Craig as the next 007 is reaching new heights as betting on the role has been suspended, according to Metro. When Craig was first cast, many thought he was an unexpected choice, with some critics expressing doubt even before his debut in Casino Royale. However, his portrayal quickly won over fans, and now, the pressure is on to find an actor who can live up to his legacy. The recent suspension of betting suggests that bookmakers might have insider information, hinting that the next James Bond may already have been chosen.

Since Craig departed from the role following 2021’s No Time to Die, numerous names have been floated as potential candidates for the next James Bond. One of the most prominent has been Idris Elba, who has long been linked to the role. However, despite being a fan favorite, Elba has officially removed himself from consideration. With Elba out of the running, who is left?

Who Are the Top Contenders for the Next James Bond?

Another name that has generated significant buzz is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, known for his roles in Kraven the Hunter and Bullet Train. Taylor-Johnson’s stylish performance in Bullet Train gave off serious Bond vibes, albeit a grittier and more intense version of the iconic spy. Despite rumors in March suggesting he had secured the role, these were quickly debunked.

Currently, the frontrunners include Regé-Jean Page, Damson Idris, Theo James, Leo Woodall, and still, Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Each of these actors brings charm, looks, and rising star power to the table, making them strong contenders for the role.

Taylor-Johnson remains the most likely candidate, with betting odds consistently around 4/5. However, his commitments, such as the upcoming Kraven the Hunter and the potential for sequels, could complicate his ability to take on the Bond mantle.

If Taylor-Johnson is unavailable, who’s next in line? Regé-Jean Page, who became a household name through Bridgerton and displayed plenty of charisma in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, would be an excellent choice. Damson Idris, starring in the upcoming F1 movie alongside Brad Pitt, is another strong contender whose profile is set to rise. Theo James has proven his versatility in roles like The Gentlemen, but his commitments to that series could be a hurdle. Finally, Leo Woodall, with a role in the upcoming fourth Bridget Jones movie, is the dark horse in this race.

While Taylor-Johnson and Page are the current favorites, Theo James remains a strong possibility. For now, we can only speculate, but it seems that the reveal of the next James Bond could be just around the corner.
