MOVIE NEWS – The next chapter in director Rian Johnson’s acclaimed whodunit saga, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, has now officially wrapped filming. The filmmaker, who has received high praise for Knives Out and its sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, took to social media to announce the news and shared a new image (which you can check out below) from the set alongside the caption.
“Aaaaaand that’s a wrap on Wake Up Dead Man. Thank you to the best crew in the world and the most brilliant cast. This shoot was a VERY special experience, I cannot wait to put this thing together and show you all what we’ve got.”

While specific plot details for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery remain, rather aptly, a mystery, we do know that James Bond and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star Daniel Craig will return as private detective and master sleuth Benoit Blanc. The movie will no doubt once again find Blanc uncovering a killer, with Johnson revealing last year that Knives Out 3 will be different both “tonally and thematically” from its predecessors. He explained to Variety:
“What was exciting about doing [Glass Onion] was the notion of trying to emulate Christie with a completely new story. I’m starting to work on the third movie now, and that’s also what’s got me creatively jazzed: I don’t have to replicate the last movie at all. The goal is to strike out in a completely new direction tonally and thematically.”
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery Boasts a Hugely Impressive Ensemble Cast
So far, both Knives Out movies have been brimming with major stars. The first outing saw the likes of Ana de Armas, Christopher Plummer, Chris Evans, Katherine Langford, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, and Toni Collette as the main ensemble cast, with the sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, finding Benoit Blanc pointing the finger at Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista.
The third installment will be no different, and possibly boasts the most impressive cast so far. Alongside Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery features an ensemble cast that includes Josh O’Connor (The Crown, Challengers), Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction), Mila Kunis (Black Swan), Jeremy Renner (Mayor of Kingstown, Avengers: Endgame), Kerry Washington (Scandal), Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers), Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus), Daryl McCormack (Twisters), Thomas Haden Church (Sideways, Spider-Man: No Way Home), and Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, Avengers: Infinity War).
Both Knives Out and Glass Onion were critical hits, with the former earning writer and director Rian Johnson a nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the 92nd Academy Awards, while the latter received a nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 95th Academy Awards.
