It’s often the case with PC versions of multiplatform games that the publisher or developer will partner with a GPU company, but this time the French publisher has done a bit of a double-take.
Intel Gamer Days 2024 has kicked off, and the company has confirmed that Intel has become the official CPU and GPU partner for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game will support the company’s XeSS scaling technology, which is based on artificial intelligence. “Our partnership with Ubisoft continues to deliver incredible experiences for PC gamers around the world, and we couldn’t be more excited to work together on the next chapter of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Whether you’re gaming on the go with a 14-generation HX gaming notebook or hunkering down for a marathon session on your next-generation desktop, the best Assassin’s Creed Shadows experience on PC will be Intel-powered,” said Roger Chandler, vice president and general manager of the Enthusiast and Workstation Segment at Intel.
“We are excited to extend our ongoing relationship with Intel by bringing the power of Intel Core processors and Intel Arc graphics to the next great chapter in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. With the combined expertise of Ubisoft and Intel, the Assassin’s Creed Shadows experience will be incredible on both current and next-generation Intel Core systems,” added Pierre Fortin, Technical Director at Ubisoft Québec.
Intel has a bundle deal where you can get Assassin’s Creed Shadows with the purchase of certain 12th generation or newer processors or Arc graphics cards, but Intel’s website has more details, so be sure to check them out to make sure you can get the game if you are looking to upgrade your PC with Intel hardware.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be released on November 15th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, Mac and iPad. Usually Nvidia or AMD is the partner for other AAA games, so it’s a surprise that Ubisoft chose Intel.
