Could the Lies of P Sequel Be Very Different? Here Are the Latest Clues!

One of last year’s most surprising RPGs, “Bloodborne Pinocchio” Lies of P, may return with a new map format in the future.

In a year that brought us an incredible number of releases, Lies of P was one of the most pleasant surprises in store for us. For the first time, the game gave a taste of what South Korean companies can do if they have the right tools. The result became one of the few soulslike games that the community dares to compare to FromSoftware’s titles. The commercial success was significant and resulted in the release of many new games. All of this led to the announcement of a sequel almost immediately, and we have now received an exciting clue.

The sequel to Lies of P could be an open-world

Lies of P’s publisher (Neowiz Games) has posted a job posting that hints that the game’s already announced sequel may include open-world elements. The bottom line is that among the skills required for the job, in addition to basic knowledge such as the ability to use the Unreal Engine, they mention that “extensive experience playing open-world titles is required.” The words “experience with open worlds” are also included in the “key points” part of the job offer.

While the information isn’t definitive proof that the Lies of P sequel will be open-world, it does indicate that the developers are interested in the idea.

Either by creating large zones or going for this map structure entirely, but they are dealing with it. The decision would not be surprising in either case. By definition, part of the success of Elden Ring – which has already sold more than 25 million copies – is due to FromSoftware’s choice of this format.

Although we have already received references to the continuation of Lies of P several times thanks to various job offers, the immediate future of the saga lies in the release of a DLC. According to Neowiz’s own statement, the first expansion of the video game will arrive before the end of the year. If that happened, maybe the developers could talk directly about the sequel, denying or confirming the rumours…
