PlayStation Plus Essential: What Can We Play in the First Month of Autumn 2024?

With summer coming to an end (although they forgot to mention the weather, as it’s still as hot as the middle of July), another month has flown by and Sony has once again announced the games that PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will be able to add to their accounts.

We took a look at the Twitter feed of billbil-kun, who has a history of accurate leaks, to see if he’d finally found out about the PlayStation Plus Essential titles for September, but unfortunately we were once again unsuccessful, as he hasn’t leaked anything in a long time, and on several occasions he’s found out about the upcoming month’s titles so surprisingly early that he’s been able to find out about them days in advance. Anyway, let’s take a look at what Sony has in store for all PlayStation Plus subscribers in September…

The first game will be a brand new title, and we haven’t seen many examples of this before (Stray was one, which went on to be very successful). Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4) will be the big title of the month, so Unbroken Studios could be in for quite a ride if it’s a successful game. After that, we have another baseball game to cover, as American baseball isn’t very well known in these parts, but we’ll get that with MLB The Show 24 (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4). The third game is a true horror platformer, Little Nightmares II (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4). All three games will be available between September 3rd and 30th.

As a reminder, here’s a list of the games that will be available until Monday, so you can catch up on August’s offerings before then. These titles are Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4) and Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights (PlayStation 4; also available on PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility).
