Baldur’s Gate 3: Get Ready, Patch 7 is Coming to Change Everything!

Larian Studios, the creative force behind Baldur’s Gate 3, has announced that Patch 7 for their acclaimed fantasy RPG is dropping next week for PC players. Console and Mac users, don’t worry—your time will come soon. This patch promises a slew of new features and improvements that will undoubtedly shake things up.

It’s been over a year since Baldur’s Gate 3 made its debut, earning the title of GOTY 2023 and several other accolades for redefining the RPG genre. Since then, Larian Studios has been hard at work enhancing the game, adding more endings, and even a playable epilogue. But the Belgian developers are not done yet. Patch 7 is poised to be one of the most significant updates to date, bringing a host of new content for players to dive into.

Just hours ago, the official Baldur’s Gate 3 X/Twitter account teased the upcoming major update for PC, with consoles and Mac to follow. “Patch 7 is coming to PC next week! With so many changes and new features on the way, it will take a bit longer to reach consoles and Mac, but fear not; you’ll be slaying enemies and installing mods before you know it,” they shared during a PAX West 2024 panel.

What’s in Store with Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7?

The highlight of Patch 7 is undoubtedly the introduction of the official mod tool, allowing players to create and share their own content with the wider community. In addition, the much-anticipated “dark” endings will finally be available, offering new paths for those who choose to take a morally dubious route. Plus, over 1,000 fixes and improvements are set to enhance the game’s experience significantly.

“We have a few things up our sleeve.” Larian Studios hints at even more to come, suggesting that it will be hard not to return to the RPG. And the best part? More patches are on the way!

This update also brings notable performance and stability enhancements, an improved split-screen experience, the addition of a highly requested Photo Mode, and enhancements to Honor Mode. Cross-play between platforms is another welcome feature that will allow more gamers to join forces regardless of their chosen system. With all this in store, players can expect even more surprises from Larian Studios in the days ahead.
