MOVIE NEWS – Deadpool & Wolverine has finally given comic book enthusiasts something they’ve been yearning for since Hugh Jackman first took on the role over two decades ago: a Wolverine that truly matches his comic book origins. While Jackman finally slipped into the iconic yellow costume in Deadpool & Wolverine, many fans were caught off guard by the portrayal of a Wolverine that truly resembles his classic look from the comics. With retractable adamantium claws and wild, spiked hair that could give Jim Carrey’s Ace Ventura a run for its money, the “real” Wolverine is, as the internet lovingly calls him, a “short king,” standing at just 5’3″. To capture this pint-sized version on screen, director Shawn Levy employed a body double and digitally added Hugh Jackman’s face to the character.
Now, the identity of the actor who doubled for the “short Wolverine” has been revealed online, and fans can’t get enough of him. Luke Bennett, a professional bodybuilder and actor, took to Instagram to showcase a behind-the-scenes look at his costume from Deadpool & Wolverine. Although Bennett remained uncredited for his work as a body double in the film, he is finally getting the recognition he deserves from fans after his post. Besides his role in the latest MCU film, Bennett has also been featured in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and The Northman. In his post, Bennett expressed that working on the movie was a dream come true and praised stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, along with director Shawn Levy, for bringing the shorter Wolverine to life on the big screen. Bennett shared: “This goes out to everyone who said growing up that being part of the X-Men wasn’t a real job… What a crazy ride ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ has been! I’m grateful to be a ‘small’ part of this incredible film and to help bring an authentic Wolverine to the screen! Huge thanks to [Levy, Reynolds, and Jackman] for this chance — for your patience and for being the legends you are! You guys made me feel so welcome on set, and I can’t thank you enough! (I was so nervous I almost passed out).”

What’s Next for Deadpool & Wolverine?
Deadpool & Wolverine has proven to be a massive R-rated hit, breaking records as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, overtaking Todd Phillips’ Joker. With that kind of success, another sequel seems almost guaranteed in Hollywood. But the big question remains: will Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman return for another round? Hugh Jackman has remained ambiguous about whether he’ll step back into Wolverine’s shoes for the MCU. The movie ends with Wolverine joining Wade Wilson at a party, surrounded by his friends and Laura (Dafne Keen), leaving his future wide open in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While fans recall that Jackman previously announced his retirement after Logan, his unexpected return in Deadpool & Wolverine surprised everyone. Even Jackman himself has joked that he can’t trust his own statements about retiring the character. For Ryan Reynolds, the future might look a little less clear. During an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Reynolds joked that he wants no part in Deadpool 4, should it get a green light from Marvel Studios. The actor, who has played Deadpool for 15 years (including X-Men Origins: Wolverine), humorously said that his family would disown him if he took on a fourth installment. Reynolds quipped: “Oh, god no. My wife and kids will leave me. Jimmy, I don’t have a prenup with any of them. I’d be capital ‘B’ broke, and probably then have to do Deadpool 4 because I’d need the money.”
