MOVIE NEWS – It took a long time to piece together the puzzle, but the picture is finally clear: if everything goes as planned, the next installment of the world-conquering dinosaur series, Jurassic World: Rebirth, will hit theaters in mid-summer next year.
One of the most interesting aspects of the new film is the return of David Koepp, the screenwriter of the first two films, who skipped the following four installments. The story of Rebirth, which has only been outlined so far, suggests that the dinosaurs that escaped in the last installment (Jurassic World: Dominion) can only survive in areas around the equator, as these most closely resemble their original habitats from 60 million years ago. The blood of the three largest dinosaurs contains a compound with an unspecified beneficial effect on all of humanity. A brave team sets out to collect DNA samples from the dinosaurs by land, sea, and air.
The director is Gareth Edwards, who gained fame with blockbuster hits like Godzilla and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. As for the cast, the stars of the previous six parts will not return, meaning neither Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern from the first trilogy nor Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard from the second. The reason is that gathering so many famous actors at once was not feasible. The new team is led by Scarlett Johansson, joined by several stars who are not yet A-list but might join the elite club with this film.
