Is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Afraid to Make History?

There was a reference to an event in a game developed (mainly) by Treyarch that seems to have been removed from this year’s Call of Duty.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is currently making its way from closed beta to open beta, and it’s here that many are taking a more serious look at how the latest episode in the franchise that has been released every year for two decades is trying to be more memorable than previous installments. Perhaps that includes the business cards. One of them caught the attention of a leaker.

On Twitter, TheGhostOfHope posted a picture of a simple business card that will be included in this year’s Call of Duty. It was called Make History. The image shows protesters, a pixelated image of George W. Bush Jr. and an image of a plane about to land on a building. Now, many people were quick to think of the tragedy of September 11, 2001. According to TheGhostOfHope, one reason to think of this event is that there is a plane in the picture, and it was not present during the 1993 World Trade Center bombings…

In fact, the building doesn’t look much like the one that’s gone, and the sight of a plane crashing into a skyscraper may remind many people of the WTC. Someone was paying attention, though, because the business card was changed the day the tweet was published. Now all that’s left is someone writing on a piece of tape with a Sharpie and zooming in on it, so there’s no protester, no plane. This is strange because Treyarch has previously denied rumors that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s story mode would depict the 2001 terrorist attack…

The last time we saw a promotional image used to depict a tragic event was in June, when War Thunder accidentally used an official image of the Challenger (which exploded)…
