The first game from Jyamma Games has attracted a lot of interest, but things are not going quite as well as the Italian developers expected.
Originally, Enotria: The Last Song was supposed to be a multiplatform release, with the Souls clone also coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC, but Microsoft’s console pair will be left out of the deal, as Jyamma Games says Microsoft “decided to ignore them” during the certification process. Jacky Greco, the studio’s CEO, has repeatedly commented on the difficulties this has caused due to the lack of communication between them and Xbox.
Some people thought that the studio had been bribed by Sony, to which Greco explained in a statement that Xbox had not responded to them for two months and that they did not care about Enotria or the audience because Jyamma had already finished the Xbox Series version but were stuck in administrative hell. They spent a lot of money on the port and Microsoft is neglecting them. The studio’s comments were noticed on Steam, and Xbox officially responded, apologized, and is now working on getting the port done. Previously, Baldur’s Gate 3 had a problem with the Xbox Series version, and there had to be a compromise on the Xbox Series S port.
“We would like to officially thank Phil Spencer and his team for reaching out to us so quickly and helping to resolve our situation. We would also like to thank our amazing community for the outpouring of support over the past few days. Your voice has been heard loud and clear, and your dedication has been heartwarming. We are now working closely with Microsoft and hope that this collaboration will lead to the release of the game on Xbox as soon as possible,” Gyamma Games wrote on Twitter.
Enotria: The Last Souls will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC on September 19, but there’s no word yet on when it will arrive on the Xbox Series X/Xbox Series S.
