Dragon’s Dogma II: DLC Announcement at Tokyo Game Show?

With the first Dragon’s Dogma installment finally getting a major content expansion (Dark Arisen), it makes sense that Capcom would expand the new installment of the franchise, which has been ported to the RE engine, after the release of the base game.

On 4chan it’s appeared that Capcom has timed the Dragon’s Dogma II Expansion Pass trailer video for September 24th, so if all is true, official information about the game should be released by the Japanese publisher in a week’s time. It’s worth remembering a slightly older rumor, because at the end of March (!) there was already talk about what content the Expansion Pass might contain.

The DLC might be called Dragon Princess and might be much bigger than Dark Arisen, but it is not planned to change the content of the base game. The new area will be the swamps and tundra of a country called Galacyia, based on the Nordic countries of Europe. It will be about the same size as the main game map (Battahl and Venworth) and will be accessible from a few points in the eastern part of Vernworth. The DLC story is about a different Arisen, chosen by a different dragon. The main story is only accessible after completing the main game, but the region should be accessible at any point in the game.

The DLC will cost Capcom around $30 and will be the largest DLC Capcom has ever made, which the Japanese company is reportedly working on in parallel with the development of the base game. There will be about 10 new large monsters and about 35 new enemy types. The leaker mentioned a giant snow troll, a giant bear, a poisonous wyvern, and a cerberus. At the time, it was said that the Dragon’s Dogma II DLC would be released in November, but it’s possible that Capcom won’t keep to that, so it wouldn’t be a big surprise if it shows up only in early 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC…

However, we have to point out that this is not official!
