The Walt Disney Company Wins 60 Awards at the 76th Emmy Awards

MOVIE NEWS – Disney’s FX production company won 36 awards – the most among the company’s brands and studios, and the most in FX’s history. This year’s most awarded series was Shogun (FX’s Shogun), which set a new record in the Television Academy’s history with 19 awards. The Bear (FX’s The Bear) also broke its own record with 11 wins, marking the most victories for a comedy series in a single year.

 

Anna Sawai is the first Asian actress to win the Best Actress award for her role as Lady Mariko in Shogun. Liza Colón-Zayas is the first Latin American actress to win the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Tina Marrero in the comedy series The Bear.

Disney Branded Television’s Jim Henson: The Idea Man was the year’s most awarded documentary, winning five awards, including Best Documentary or Non-Fiction Program.

Disney’s streaming platforms collectively boast 59 wins, with 50 from Hulu and nine from Disney+.

Walt Disney Studios received four awards: for Quiz Lady and The Beach Boys films produced by 20th Century Studios, as well as Lucasfilm Ltd.’s Ahsoka and Marvel Studios’ What If…? An Immersive Story.
