When Will Silent Hill 2 Remake Launch on Other Consoles? A New Video Has the Answers! [VIDEO]

Bloober Team and Konami’s game will be console exclusive on PlayStation 5, but it’s not official how long it will remain in that status…

It’s been a long time coming that James Sunderland’s vision of his adventures in 2024 would only be available on PlayStation 5 and PC for a while, but there was a question mark over how long it would remain that way: three months? Six? Maybe twelve? That question was answered at the very end of the video embedded below, and so it can be said that anyone who might want to play the Xbox Series, or perhaps the Nintendo Switch’s successor (Konami will eventually realize, as Square Enix did: exclusivity isn’t worth it for them either! (In the case of the big N hardware, this is understandable because it definitely won’t be released at the end of the year; the first, maybe second quarter of 2025 is when it might drop…)

Silent Hill 2 Remake will not be available on “other formats” until October 8, 2025. So Sony has paid Konami to have a year of exclusivity on the game, which we don’t yet know if it will support the PlayStation 5 Pro, and if so, what kind of extra we’ll get on the half-generation console upgrade that will hit stores only a month after the game’s release.

The DualSense controller will give us haptic feedback when attacking with a melee weapon, and adaptive triggers will provide resistance when firing a shotgun. 3D sound is also supported if you plan on playing Silent Hill 2 Remake with a headset. TV speakers and analog/USB stereo headphones will also have the option, so you won’t have to get a Pulse 3D headset. If you have a 4K display, you can also play at that resolution for a more cinematic effect with deeper immersion and better image quality. The DualSense light bar will indicate James’ health status (green: he’s fine, red: time to heal).

Silent Hill 2 Remake will be available for PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8.
