Nintendo Switch 2: A 3D Printed Surprise! [VIDEO]

Although Nintendo’s next console hasn’t been officially unveiled yet due to a big leak, someone has already modeled and printed the Switch 2 (the name is not official yet, of course).

In a Chinese-language video, we can see what the Nintendo Switch 2 could look like, as the 3D printing seems to be of high quality. Based on the leaks, the leaker has produced a device that is larger in size, with a larger display than the currently available Switch. Everything else, though, is absolutely in line with the style the Switch has gotten us used to since its launch in 2017, so the big N hasn’t left the beaten path for the beaten path, although the magnetic attachment to the Joy-Con controllers is initially unusual, no doubt.

The leaks appeared on an unspecified Discord server, courtesy of a Chinese user. The source is under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), and presumably a factory worker shared the details. Specifications for the Switch successor have also been leaked, and they’re mostly the same as we’ve heard before. It will have 12 GB of memory, LPDDR5X at 7500 MT/s, and 256 gigabytes of flash memory. We don’t know much about the SoC (system-on-a-chip) model name, but if these specs are real, we’ll probably hear more about the Big N’s next hardware in the near future.

Rumors suggest that the Nintendo Switch 2’s performance will be relatively close to that of the Xbox Series S, but texture quality could be better on the Big N’s next platform if there is indeed 12 gigs of memory in hardware supporting Nvidia DLSS and Ray Reconstruction. Still, it’ll beat the Steam Deck because its processor is even more powerful than today’s chicken.

The successor to the Nintendo Switch has yet to be announced, but the Japanese company will have to make short work of it when the hardware is released in the first quarter of 2025.
