MOVIE NEWS – CBS Studios’ Emmy-nominated comedy series stars Kelsey Grammer. The series debuts today with two episodes, and new episodes will arrive weekly.
In the second season of Frasier, Dr. Frasier Crane briefly returns to his radio roots at Seattle’s KACL radio station. The episode features previously announced guest stars from the original Frasier series, including Dan Butler as Bob “Bulldog” Briscoe, Edward Hibbert as Gil Chesterton, and Harriet Sansom Harris as Frasier’s charmingly devilish agent, Bebe Glazer.
The Frasier series was filmed live in front of a studio audience at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. The series follows the next chapter of the legendary Frasier Crane’s (Grammer) life. The protagonist returns to Boston, Massachusetts, to face a variety of challenges, make new connections, and finally fulfill old dreams. Other cast members include Jack Cutmore-Scott as Freddy, Frasier’s son; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan, Frasier’s old college buddy turned professor; Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department; Jess Salgueiro as Eve, Frasier and Freddy’s neighbor; and Anders Keith as David, Frasier’s nephew. Peri Gilpin also returns in the second season, reprising her role as the beloved Roz Doyle. Other previously announced guest stars include Rachel Bloom, Yvette Nicole Brown, Greer Grammer, Patricia Heaton, and Amy Sedaris. The legendary director James Burrows is also back to direct two episodes.
The original Frasier series still holds the record for the most Emmy Award wins for a comedy series, with 37 awards and 107 nominations. The Frasier series is written by Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Joe Cristalli (Life in Pieces), who also serve as executive producers alongside Grammer, Tom Russo, and Jordan McMahon. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
