Omega Force and Koei Tecmo will not be bringing the latest installment in the long-running Dynasty Warriors franchise to the world this year.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins introduces a nameless hero to the 1 vs. 1,000 gameplay of Warriors lore as a mysterious martial artist steps to the forefront of the game’s epic story. The title promises to deliver the most intense combat of any game in the franchise’s history. Dynasty Warriors: Origins begins at the dawn of an era of tremendous upheaval in the Three Kingdoms, when the original protagonist – a traveling martial artist with amnesia – finds himself in the midst of a great conflict.

Here, the game’s hero participates in this dramatic tale of ancient China, playing an active role in the story while allowing players to experience the drama of the war-torn land firsthand. Throughout the journey, players will make various choices as the protagonist – but he, too, carries a secret – that will impact the Three Kingdoms and help illustrate a turbulent time in history in an exciting new way. During his battles, the nameless hero will sometimes charge into battle on his own, while at other times he’ll join forces with allied officers and soldiers to charge at large enemy forces. Players can rely on the strength of accompanying Musou officers, issue commands to units, or charge into oncoming armies, varying strategies to conquer the deadly battlefield in this epic showcase of 1-on-1 action.

Throughout Dynasty Warriors: Origins, there will also be many famous and powerful officers, such as Lu Bu, waiting to test the young martial artist’s skills. Battles against these officers, who possess almost superhuman strength, result in combat that is both action-packed and challenging, keeping players on the edge of their seats throughout each encounter. This extraordinary power can also be found in your allies, as the Companion Officer that accompanies the protagonist can temporarily become playable when certain conditions are met during battle, resulting in an exhilarating experience that takes dominance to a whole new level!

Dynasty Warriors: Origins will be released on January 17th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.
