Until Dawn Remake: It Requires More Space Than the Original!

The remake of Until Dawn (originally developed by Supermassive Games) was created by Ballistic Moon (we recently wrote about the studio that they fired some people from there, even though the game hasn’t even been released yet…), and it looks very promising and promises to be a big game size-wise.

When Until Dawn was released for PlayStation 4 in 2015, it had to be scrapped for 46.77 GB of space. This compares to 56.676 GB for the PS5 version of the remake, which is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC. That’s an increase of around 25% in one console generation, which is quite astonishing.

When eight friends return to the isolated cabin where two of their group disappeared a year earlier, fear tightens its icy grip and their mountain retreat turns into a nightmare with no escape. Immerse yourself in a gripping slasher horror rebuilt from the ground up with stunning visuals in Unreal Engine 5. Featuring cinematic imagery, refined gameplay mechanics and more, embark on a thrilling exploration of a remote mountain where nothing is what it seems. Face your fears and see who survives until dawn, rebuilt and enhanced for PlayStation 5 console and PC. Create your own gripping story as you take control of nine unique characters, portrayed by an all-star cast including Hayden Panettiere, Brett Dalton and more, and determine their fate through your choices. Through dynamic animation and nuanced facial capture performances, you will learn what makes each character tick and who in the group has what it takes to survive.

Explore a rich and detailed environment that will take your breath away with every step you take. Discover new collectibles, all-new environments to explore, and re-cut narrative sequences that deepen the mystery. Interact with the world like never before with the DualSense wireless controller and get closer to the action with an all-new, immersive third-person camera. You’ll also enjoy an all-new score and reworked audio that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout your journey.

With seamless scene-to-gameplay transitions made possible by the PlayStation 5 console’s ultra-fast SSD, stay fully immersed in the heart-pounding horror and face your fears without a moment’s hesitation. Feel the resistance of a gun trigger, pick up objects in the environment and feel the weight of your decisions through adaptive triggers as you survive the horrors of the mountain. Pinpoint every breathless whisper, unfamiliar footstep, and chilling scream with 3D audio as you navigate the darkness, relying on each of your senses to stay alive. Built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, the power of PlayStation 5 consoles brings the horror to life with realistic lighting and ray-tracted character shadows. Explore the eerily lit interiors of the lodge, the clawing darkness of the mines and the moonlit mountain wilderness in stunning detail. Feel the footsteps of friends and foes alike intensify with proximity, and every bump and scrape as you claw through the darkness on the run from a killer. From the click of a digital camera to the supernatural power of nearby totems, the haptic feedback of DualSense connects you to your environment like never before.

Until Dawn Remake will be released on October 4 for PlayStation 5 and PC.
