Until Dawn Remake: Major Issues with the PC Version!

Ballistic Moon hasn’t done a perfect job with the Supermassive Games legacy (they’re currently working on The Dark Pictures Anthology…), as the PC port is a bit weak compared to the PlayStation 5 version…

DSOGaming has reported that turning on ray tracing (RT) does NOTHING in Until Dawn Remake! There was no difference in image quality between RT on and RT off. The two pictures below would be a comparison, and one should be on his feet if he thinks there is a significant difference between them…

There is another shortcoming: AMD’s upscaling technology, FSR 3.0 (FidelityFX Super Resolution), doesn’t work either! Of course, if you have an Nvidia graphics card, you can work around this, as DLSS works fine. Ballistic Moon had previously promised that all three upscaling technologies (the third being Intel XeSS) would be supported in the PC port, but AMD users are out of luck. The port can be described as a bit sloppy and rushed, as PCs can achieve much better visuals with sufficiently powerful hardware. So the PlayStation 5 version is better in terms of visuals (if only because it has ray tracing…).

We recently reported that a sequel to Until Dawn Remake could be in the works, as there are two scenes in the ending that weren’t seen in the original PlayStation 4 game. It’s likely that Ballistic Moon has already outlined the plans to Sony, but the ‘Blues’ will only agree if the game sells well enough. However, if PC ports of this quality are released (which is still better than The Last of Us Part I was originally…), Sony will be hoping for big sales. Or is this the company’s way to drive the audience to the PlayStation 5?

Hopefully this was just a rush job on the PC port. Maybe they shouldn’t have fired part of the team just before release!
