Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: No Story DLC Planned, But PC Version on the Way!

Insomniac Games has made a surprise announcement about one of the biggest PlayStation 5 exclusives of 2023, and we’ve learned when it’s coming to PC.

October 20, 2023 marks almost a year since Peter Parker and Miles Morales made their PlayStation 5 debut in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on Sony’s current-gen console. The PlayStation Blog now also reports that the game will be coming to PC via Nixxes Software (but we’ve already heard that a port was ready around April…), and that several high-end models of Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5000 cards will probably be in stores by then (the “greens” usually release the weaker cards later).

The PC port will arrive on Steam and the Epic Games Store on January 30th, but we haven’t heard any details about the port yet, so no details have been released about which of the Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS scalers will be supported, but Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software will probably take some time later this year to do so. The PC port will therefore arrive a year and a quarter after the PlayStation 5 port, so it looks like the company is starting to speed up the release of the PC versions.

But there’s also bad news. With no further story DLC planned, development on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is essentially complete, so it’s advisable to get the game out as soon as possible on PC, as they’ve been waiting to release it until now to get all the DLC out first. Pre-orderers will receive three color variations of the Peter Arachknight and Miles Shadow-Spider costumes, early access to the Web Grabber gadget, and three extra skill points. The Digital Deluxe version also includes two additional Skill Points, 5-5 exclusive costumes, and additional items in Photo Mode.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available for PC on January 30th. Hopefully it won’t have a bad performance (stuttering, missing raytracing…).
