The latest leak of The Elder Scrolls VI has reassured fans (for now)…
The Elder Scrolls VI is a pretty mysterious game at the moment. There’s a lot to hear about the upcoming Elder Scrolls adventure, but it’s hard to find solid details about gameplay, features, etc. Rumours about the size of the Bethesda game’s open world have divided fans. Not to mention the countless other speculations that continue to spark heated debates among fans.
One of the latter was when we heard that the developers might be changing the classic skill tree mechanics of the TES games. Fortunately, the latest leak has reassured players more than give them any new worries.
A Reddit post has given fans hope that The Elder Scrolls VI won’t change its approach to RPGs just because of successful titles like Baldur’s Gate 3.
Larian’s game has stuck to a traditional approach when it comes to skill trees, which has led some Elder Scrolls fans to panic that such features will be included in Bethesda’s next game.
However, as far as Bethesda’s Todd Howard is concerned, these intricate details won’t change the way The Elder Scrolls VI handles skills/perks. Fans believe this is confirmation that the “perk trees” familiar from Skyrim will return in the new RPG.
“Todd Howard has made it abundantly clear that his personal game philosophies are centred around immersive sims and not classic RPG ‘spreadsheet-like’ numbers and stats,” explained Xilveright – “Perk trees are probably a given.”
Even gamers who don’t particularly like Bethesda’s creative choices respect the brand for sticking to their goals.
“It’s something I really respect about them and why I always defend their design choices […] I love that they’re not just making whatever is popular right now and doing their own thing,” Boyo-Sh00k posted.
Someone else shared: “People within the broader gaming community like to say that Baldur’s Gate 3 puts Bethesda and Starfield to shame […] both companies make vastly different types of RPGs.”
Whether you agree with this latest Elder Scrolls VI teaser or not, it certainly reassures fans who were worried that the new RPGs would dramatically change what we know and love about the Elder Scrolls series.
