Was The Wolf Among Us 2 Cancelled?! Telltale Games Has Finally Spoken!

According to Telltale Games, The Wolf Among Us 2 is still in development and fans will receive more information “when the time is right”…

Although it’s one of the most anticipated games in their portfolio, Telltale Games hasn’t shared much information about The Wolf Among Us 2. In fact, we haven’t heard anything about Bigby’s new adventure in months. This situation has caused some concern among fans. As if that wasn’t enough, a Reddit user who claimed to have information about the internal situation at Telltale Games hinted at the game’s possible cancellation. Now, the developers themselves wanted to refute the rumour once and for all.

In short, The Wolf Among Us 2 is still alive.

According to a statement sent to Eurogamer UK, the title will continue its journey and they will not forget to present more information to the community over time. “As a rule, we don’t comment on rumors and unsubstantiated reddit threads,” said the company’s representative. “But development on The Wolf Among Us 2 continues and we’re excited to share more about the game with Telltale fans and our community when the time is right.”

So now we just have to wait for Telltale Games to reveal more details about the game. It is certain that there is complete radio silence at the company. They last mentioned the game in July with the release of some unreleased images. Next time, perhaps, the company will lift the veil on the project by unveiling a trailer.

A wave of layoffs at Telltale Games

It’s common knowledge that Telltale Games has had a rough few moments in the video game industry. The company faced bankruptcy in 2018, only to regroup a year later with new management. Unfortunately, the current crisis in the sector has not spared its developers either. In 2023, it was announced that “almost all” of its workers would be laid off. It is not yet known how the situation will develop in the coming months, but it is inevitable that this also plays a role in the slow completion of the game.
