God of War Ragnarök’s New PS5 Update Finally Brings PC-Exclusive Features to Console!

God of War Ragnarok is updated for PS5 with one of the most requested features that PC players have. Aside from the fact that the Santa Monica title has received improvements for PS5 Pro, one of the most requested features that has arrived on consoles is the option to reduce the clues when solving puzzles.

It’s been two years since God of War Ragnarök launched on PS4 and PS5, and just last September, it made its way to PC with mixed reviews, particularly over the mandatory PSN account link. Yet, the PC release introduced exclusive features that console players can now enjoy, thanks to the latest PS5 Pro update.

Santa Monica Studio announced on Twitter (X) that God of War Ragnarök patch 06.00 is now live for PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, and PS5 Pro users. Those with the latest console can experience Kratos and Atreus’ adventure with Quality Mode at a stable 60 FPS, along with a high frame rate mode that enhances fluidity for VRR-compatible displays.

On PS5 Pro, Performance-first mode now incorporates PSSR upscaling technology for an improved visual experience. All console players can now access the reduced puzzle-solving hints feature, previously available only on the PC version, as well as a new option for cinematic audio descriptions. Additionally, the patch addresses various bugs identified in the patch notes, ensuring smoother gameplay.

The “Please Shut Up” Mod for PC Gamers

While the hint reduction is a welcomed update, some players feel it doesn’t go far enough, as Atreus still offers hints to a lesser degree. If you’re on PC and want a more solitary puzzle-solving experience, you can try the Please Shut Up mod from Nexus Mods, which removes over 1,500 lines of dialogue, including many hint-related ones, to give you full control.
