Fool’s Theory and 11 Bit Studios will soon bring the game, which launched on PC more than eight months ago, to current-gen consoles.
The Thaumaturge is a historically rich, character-driven role-playing game set in Warsaw in 1905. The game follows Wiktor, a world-weary thaumaturge, as he returns to his roots in Warsaw – a bustling city teeming with cultural diversity that serves as a vivid backdrop for his journey. Wiktor’s story unravels the secrets of his troubled past, as well as those of Warsaw’s eclectic residents, who represent every facet of the city’s society. Ultimately, he may even uncover the intrigues of Rasputin, a shadowy figure who wields influence at the highest levels of the Imperial Court and within the Tsarist forces occupying Poland.
With his thaumaturgic powers, Victor sees beyond the ordinary, manipulates the will of others to achieve his ends, and forges connections with mystical beings known as Salutors. While these entities offer distinct advantages in turn-based combat and detective-style investigations, each also brings a unique burden – be it pride, recklessness, or some other flaw – that Wiktor must absorb, making their powers a double-edged sword.
Play an isometric role-playing game where your choices determine the final outcome of the story. Use your unique abilities to influence and manipulate other characters to bend their will to your will. Tame the power of folklore-inspired demons called Salutors to gain an advantage as you explore the world and bring enemies to their knees. Experience unique turn-based combat and defeat enemies with both physical attacks and the skills of your tamed Salutors. Meet a rich gallery of characters from all walks of life on your journey and use your mystical abilities to uncover their hidden secrets. Explore the rarely depicted historical period of early 20th century Warsaw, where crime and luxury are often two sides of the same coin.
The Thaumaturge launched on PC on March 4th (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG). The PlayStation 5/Xbox Series port will be released on December 4, and a demo is available now.
