PlayStation Gears Up for Exciting Holiday Sales!

During Black Friday, Sony’s hardware will be heavily discounted, and these plans have just been leaked!

This week, one of Sony’s ads appeared earlier than it should have, but it’s not for the European region, it’s for North America. There, the company is said to be planning to sell the PlayStation 5 for $70 less over the Christmas period. Of course, this is only a temporary price cut, not a permanent one, as Sony has only INCREASED the price of this generation of consoles since the launch of the PlayStation 5!

However, Billbil-kun on Dealabs has posted about what Sony is planning to discount in Europe. As he is the one who has been accurately reporting the PlayStation Plus (Essential) games list for a long time, he is certainly not wrong this time. According to him, the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition will be €475 instead of €550, but if you don’t want the Blu-ray drive, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will be €375 instead of €450, so Sony can lower the price by €75. No promotions are planned for the PlayStation 5 Pro, as it’s still too new hardware (remember, it’s been out for less than two weeks).

The PlayStation VR2 is also on sale, but with a bigger price cut. This just goes to show that Sony probably can’t sell the VR headset very well, otherwise they wouldn’t be planning a 33% price cut! But that’s the case: the PlayStation VR2 will cost €400 instead of €600, and if you buy a bundle with the code for Horizon Call of the Mountain (not on disk!), you can get it for €400 instead of €650.

It’s understandable that Sony also wants to participate in the year-end sales, which is why this quarter usually brings strong sales for them and for the Nintendo-Microsoft duo.
