Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: Director Apologizes – Will It Be Easier to Get the Platinum Trophy?!

Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, has promised that it won’t be so challenging to get the Platinum Trophy in future games…

Getting the Platinum Trophy in a video game is a challenge many players set to prove their dedication, skill, and passion for a particular game. Achieving it can require many, many hours of effort and time that many others don’t have. However, this often becomes a problem. Sometimes, trophies are almost ridiculously difficult to obtain, and it seems that this is the case with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Although achievements and trophies in video games are increasingly popular rewards, a small percentage of players actually undertake to complete/earn them. This is why Square Enix’s JRPG also has a very small percentage of players who reach the platinum rank. This rate is said to be around 2%, as can be seen on the PSN Profiles website. The Japanese company is aware of the complaints about this, as it seems to have frustrated the community.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director apologizes for the difficulty of the Platinum Trophy

Players have been voicing their anger on forums and social media sites such as Reddit. However, Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, apologized to the community for the difficulty of the Platinum Trophy in an interview with the Daily Star. “I think there is one other thing actually, which I can say was a mistake on my part, something that I’ve already apologized for – and I definitely will not do again, which is how difficult I made it to get the Platinum Trophy” – he said (via Genki_JPN).

“So rest assured I have learned from that, and in future, I will not be making Platinum Trophies that difficult” – Hamaguchi assures. In the same conversation, the Japanese creative confirmed that FFVII Rebirth will not receive DLC or expansions. They are fully focused on the remake of FFVII Part 3, which could arrive in 2027 or even 2028. In this regard, Square Enix noted that they would switch to Unreal Engine 5 if the development of Final Fantasy Remake Part 3 were accelerated.
