CINEMA NEWS – It’s heartbreaking that Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) is dead in the next Bridget Jones movie, but that could only make the final (?) episode of the series better – at least that’s what ScreenRant editor Joshua Darlington thinks. Because if the creators kill off one of the most important characters in the Bridget Jones galaxy, they’ll initially shake the Force, but then the beneficial effect of this move will become clear. If Darcy can die, then anything can happen in the new movie, we certainly won’t be drowning in the lukewarm filth of the sequels. (Of course, the truth is that Darcy was actually killed by Helen Fielding in the novel from which the movie was made.)
That’s exactly what Bridget Jones: The Lost City is about, that with the death of the main character, the horizon expands and new adventures await Bridget. The heroine has to start a new life as a widow with a small child, for which it is essential that she finds love again. Happiness arrives in the person of a young man (Leo Woodall), meaning that anything can really happen. Bridget‘s love life is made even more exciting by the fact that her children’s teacher (Chiwetel Ejiofor) also appears in the picture. Of course, Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) also returns, just to be on the safe side. The actor, with his sarcastic humor, said about the film that it is very funny, but also very sad, so we can go to the cinema with this in mind.
