Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will feature a more complex narrative and focus on Henry’s journey as a soldier and nobleman.
Although it was sadly delayed in August, with the release date pushed back from the end of this year to February 2025, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 remains one of the most anticipated open-world RPGs. While we continue to wait for its arrival, Warhorse Studios has been slowly dropping news about the massive project. Today, we learned that the role-playing focus will be significantly expanded, with multiple endings.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will continue the journey of the protagonist, Henry of Skalitz, who rose from a simple peasant blacksmith to a noble knight in the first title. However, while the first part, which came six years ago, focused on telling a revenge story, the sequel will delve deeper into Henry’s character, his personal and political development, and everything that revolves around his transformation into a warrior.
One of the big new features of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is that, unlike the first game, the sequel will have multiple endings.
This will provide the game with exceptional replayability. The Czech developers have stated that they will not follow the pattern of the first game, which only had one canonical ending. Instead, they will now offer different narrative paths based on the moral choices of the players. However, we assume that if they want to make a third game, there will also be a canonical ending among the options, although this remains a mystery for now.
For its part, the game’s open world will be expanded compared to the first part. It will offer greater freedom and depth, similar to other popular titles such as The Witcher 3. The Czech studio promised an immersive experience that will fully immerse players in medieval life in the 15th century, where every decision, no matter how small, will have a significant impact on the story.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s protagonist is counting on hundreds of hours of gameplay
In addition to the RPG’s multiple endings, actor Tom McKay, who plays Henry, confirmed back in the summer that he has recorded over 500 hours of dialogue for the sequel! This offers a richer and deeper narrative than its predecessor. In this context, players can expect nothing but a lot of interaction, which, combined with the multiple endings, allows for greater immersion in the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 than we were able to in its predecessor.
