Microsoft in Trouble – New Xbox App Features Delayed for Legal Reasons?!

TECH NEWS – Court order forces Microsoft to delay new Xbox app features on Android…

The video game market is changing, and Xbox doesn’t want to be left behind in its expansion beyond traditional consoles. With a firm commitment to the mobile ecosystem, Microsoft is working to integrate Android gamers into its long-term strategy, opening up new ways to buy and enjoy games. However, this project is not without its problems and challenges to overcome.

Microsoft has been forced to delay new features for the Xbox app on Android due to a court order, writes Windows Central. The Redmond company wanted gamers to be able to buy and play games from the official Xbox app on Android. However, due to a court decision, Microsoft is delaying the introduction of these features until further notice.

Sarah Bond, the president of Xbox, reported in a post published on social media: “At Xbox, we want to offer players more choice on how and where they play, including being able to play and buy games directly from the Xbox app. I recently shared our ambition to unlock these features first with the Google Play Store on Android devices in the U.S. while other app stores adapt to meet consumer demand,” – she writes.

“Due to a temporary administrative stay recently granted by the courts, we are currently unable to launch these features as planned. Our team has the functionality built and ready to go live as soon as the court makes a final decision. We are eager to launch and give more choice and flexibility to players,” explains Bond. Plus, we’re still waiting for the Xbox mobile app store…
