OG Assassin’s Creed Next-Gen Overhaul Leaves Fans Speechless

Next year, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series will transport players to Feudal Japan for the first time. Originally slated for release this month, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been postponed to February 2025, giving developers extra time to perfect the game.

If you’re eager to dive back into the series’ origins while awaiting Yasuke and Naoe’s journey, KTMX’s remarkable graphics overhaul of the original Assassin’s Creed is a must-see. This 2007 classic now boasts the stunning visuals of modern technology, blending nostalgia with next-gen performance.

The project, crafted by YouTuber KTMX, aims to deliver “extra detail, ambient occlusion, greater depth, and photorealistic lighting as if AC1 were remastered or remade for PS5, Xbox Series X, and high-end PCs.”

The results are spectacular. KTMX enhanced Altaïr’s outfit and completely retextured the game’s environments. While fans eagerly await new original stories from Ubisoft, there’s undeniable excitement around reviving classic gems like this for modern consoles.

“This is fantastic! I’ll revisit the series once I have a powerful enough PC,” one viewer commented.
“You are absolutely phenomenal,” praised another.

To try the mod yourself, you’ll need a PC copy of Assassin’s Creed. From there, visit KTMX’s Patreon or website for download options.
