Nintendo Switch 2: Leaked Information from Major Chinese Company?

It’s funny when a major company starts leaking information about Nintendo’s next-generation platform.

Lately, not a day goes by without a leak about the Nintendo Switch 2. This time around, the leak includes the logo, which is presumably what the big N has christened its next hardware. Pictures of the Switch 2 case and a tempered glass display protector have also appeared on Alibaba. This is a huge Chinese e-commerce company, and they also own AliExpress, so it’s not a small company…

Since not all components are made in Vietnam, for example, there are also manufacturers in China that supply Nintendo, so there may be some truth to the leaks that are unwelcome to the Japanese company. Officially, all the big N has said is that it will unveil the device by the end of March, which will support the Nintendo Switch’s game lineup thanks to retroactive support.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to be powered by the Nvidia Tegra T239 chip. It will feature an Ampere architecture (GeForce RTX 3000 series) GPU with 1280 CUDA cores and an eight-core ARM Cortex A78 processor. There will be 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM (two 6GB modules) and the storage will reportedly be 256GB. In terms of RAM, we’ll be getting three times the size of the Switch, and storage will be eight times the size (or four times if we’re looking at the OLED version) if the rumored specs are true. DLSS support would also be logical, thanks to the Ampere architecture, so the device will also be able to scale. We’ve also heard that the hardware performance of the Nintendo Switch 2 will lag behind even the Xbox Series S, but the fact that developers can tailor the game to the device’s capabilities will likely bridge the gap with the big N’s new device.

None of this is official yet. In any case, we don’t know when the successor to the Nintendo Switch will be released, so we don’t even know its price.
