30 Million Players Were Hyped, but Infinity Nikki’s Launch Turned Into a Total Mess

30 million pre-registrations had fans eagerly anticipating Infinity Nikki, but no one expected its launch to be plagued with so many issues. Infold has released its first patch to tackle the most critical bugs, but the game still has a long way to go.

You may not have heard of it yet, but Infinity Nikki has captured the attention of thousands of players ever since its first trailer. Before its official release on December 5, the anime-inspired open-world title racked up an impressive 30 million pre-registrations, showcasing just how much anticipation there was for this ambitious project. However, its highly anticipated launch failed to live up to expectations, as players encountered numerous issues right from the very first hours.

Infinity Nikki has stood out by blending the aesthetics of Genshin Impact with the laid-back charm of Animal Crossing. Developed by Papergames and Infold, the game revolves around a protagonist who gains magical abilities based on the outfits she wears, encouraging players to explore its expansive open world. This is complemented by platforming, puzzle-solving, and other gameplay elements designed to enrich the overall experience.

However, the gaming community quickly took to social media to report numerous bugs plaguing the experience. Infold hasn’t turned a blind eye to the criticism, responding swiftly with its first patch to address the most glaring issues. “We’ve received invaluable suggestions and feedback from various channels. We sincerely apologize for any issues you’ve encountered so far. Rest assured, we’ve acted promptly to address and resolve these problems,” the developers wrote on the official Infinity Nikki X account.

Infinity Nikki still has work ahead of her

Even after the first patch, players continue to encounter issues with the Infinity Nikki experience. Papergames and Infold have committed to rolling out further updates in the coming weeks. “We truly appreciate the high expectations you have for the quality of the game. Your anticipation is not only an honor but also a source of constant motivation for our team,” reads a post on X. “We are committed to continuing our efforts to optimize and improve the game, ensuring that every stylist enjoys a seamless and delightful journey in Infinity Nikki.”
