In just a few days, a visually stunning Western shooter from Crytek will land on Game Pass. Hunt: Showdown joins the subscription service next week.
While Crytek is best known for the Crysis franchise, the German studio hasn’t limited itself to one iconic series. Their bold venture into new territory gave us Hunt: Showdown, a fantasy-horror extraction shooter that’s become one of the most unique entries in its genre. Despite its quirks, the game has maintained a dedicated fanbase, especially following this year’s next-gen update, which breathed new life into the title. Now, Crytek has announced that Hunt: Showdown will officially join Game Pass on December 12.
Hunt: Showdown Hits Game Pass in December
The initial Xbox Game Pass lineup for December was already revealed, but Microsoft is no stranger to last-minute surprises. This time, Hunt: Showdown has been announced as a new addition, set to launch on the service on December 12.
For those unfamiliar, Hunt: Showdown combines PvPvE multiplayer action with tactical gameplay. Set in 1896, players face off against grotesque monsters and rival hunters in a grim world as they compete for lucrative loot. The stakes are always high, as a single mistake could mean losing everything you’ve gained in a match.
Since its release, the game has gained a loyal following thanks to its oppressive atmosphere, stealth-based mechanics, and challenging combat system. Players can choose to hunt solo or form teams of up to three to track and eliminate powerful bosses before their rivals. But the real test comes after – outlasting enemy hunters and safely extracting the loot is essential for victory.
With its arrival on Xbox Game Pass, Hunt: Showdown will now reach an even wider audience. It’s a great opportunity for subscribers to experience intense co-op action or test their mettle in high-stakes encounters.
