Of course, the game everyone thinks of first is at the top of the list, but there were also some really great titles in the second month of the fall.
Silent Hill 2 Remake, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Dragon Age: The Veilguard were all released in October. This year’s Call of Duty ended up at the top of the charts, which isn’t a big surprise. We don’t have any concrete numbers, as neither Microsoft, Activision, nor Treyarch have given any specifics, except to say that it was the best-selling title in the franchise so far, and that it passed all the milestones. According to Circana (formerly NPD Group), the game also had the most promotions (seventy), being a “front page story” on GameStop’s website (as well as in their stores), as well as on Target, Walmart, and Amazon.
On Twitch, League of Legends continued to lead the way in October, as the World Championship Semifinals took place on October 27th and was the most watched event. The peak concurrent viewership was 1.64 million. Silent Hill 2 Remake and Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero also placed in the top 10 (#7 and #9, respectively).
Silent Hill 2 Remake was also very successful, with 37 promotions according to Circana, which is surprising considering that Bloober Team’s game was not released for Xbox Series (and won’t be until October 2025, as Sony and Konami have agreed to a one-year exclusivity). Sony confirmed that it was the game that topped the pre-orders, and Steam also put it on the front page banner.
In terms of unique promotions, Sonic X Shadow Generations came in seventh, and another SEGA game was in the top 10 with Metaphor: ReFantazio, developed by Atlus, also achieved strong sales. Wonder what November brought? We will surely hear about it soon.
