From Software’s next game will not be available for testing everywhere before its release, which may be unpleasant news for many.
We recently wrote about Elden Ring: Nightreign, which will be available for testing in February. The problem is that, according to the text on Bandai Namco’s website, the network test will only run on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, so only those with a current-gen console should register from January 10. PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One will also be excluded. There’s no Steam or Epic Games Store logo anywhere.
So far, for example, all network tests have omitted PC, and Dark Souls 2 was delayed on PC in 2013 compared to the console versions. Dark Souls 3 was released simultaneously everywhere, but the network test was only available on PlayStation 4, and Elden Ring also skipped PC. Bloodborne is a waste of words because it’s a PlayStation 4-exclusive title, so it’s understandable that it was only available on PS4. It’s understandable that it was left out of the PC version, as it would allow data miners to uncover all the secrets. However, the console version is still being analyzed. This is what Lance McDonald did with the network test versions, using modified consoles…
Junya Ishizaki, the director of Elden Ring: Nightreign, also spoke in an interview with IGN about the possibility of FromSoftware being acquired by Sony. Ishizaki said that he did not know the status of the negotiations between Sony and Kadokawa Corporation, the parent company of FromSoftware. So it would be useless to ask him if there are any developments, as the developers have no such information. In any case, with Kadokawa, Sony’s portfolio could be expanded, especially in the area of animation, as the company would own Sword Art Online and the Mushoku Tensei franchise, for example.
Elden Ring: Nightreign will probably be released around April-May (judging by the timing of the network test) for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
